Around the Courts: March Newsletter

March Madness

Hello everyone, and happy spring time! Here at the courts, we are having our own version of March Madness with all the action on the court. With the school season, lessons, USTA Leagues, and socials, the courts have been jam-packed with players, and there are no signs of slowing down in April. With springtime, I am hoping for warmer weather and seeing plenty of tennis and pickleball action at the facility!

Around the Courts

We are Hiring!

We are still hiring for two positions at FWBTC. We are looking for a part-time tennis instructor and also summer camp counselors. Summer camps will be here before you know it, so, if you or anyone you know is interested, please have them reach out ASAP and apply here.

Ladies’ Day

Thank you everyone that participated in our inaugural Ladies’ Day on March 28th! On the morning of the event, we had 8 participants show up for our Ladies’ League Clinic. After that, we had a total of 16 women show up for our Ladies’ Quads. We will be doing this every Tuesday, so please contact the front desk or Travis Tressler if you are interested in joining!

St. Paddy’s Day Mixer

Another huge thank you to all who participated in our St. Paddy’s Day Mixer on March 10th. We had 20 faithful tennis players brave the rain and cold, and we even had a few participants play until the lights shut off. We are hoping to host our tennis mixers quarterly in the future, so please contact us or check out our calendar online for future events!

April Happenings

3rd Annual Junior Spring Slam

We will be hosting our 3rd annual Junior Spring Slam on April 8th. If you are interested in signing your child up, please click here.

You must have a USTA membership to participate. However, memberships are free for junior players! We are looking forward to a great weekend with some awesome tennis, so please sign-up.

High School and Middle School Tournaments

We will be hosting the High School District tournament on April 10th and 11th, and the Okaloosa County Middle School Tournament on April 26th and 27th. No programming, lessons, or court time will be available on those days. If you have some free time, come out and support our future tennis stars!

Closing Time

It is hard to believe, but our spring programming and school seasons will be wrapping up here in the next month. Thank you to Fort Walton Beach High School, Bruner Middle School, and Liza Jackson for their continued partnership with FWBTC, and it is truly an honor to host and support youth tennis in our area. Good luck to each team as they wrap up their seasons. As always, I hope to see you all out on the courts this month!
